MY SCAR MY TROPHY

Not one of us has ever had the privilege of being 'pain free'. From the time of birth until we cease to exist, there occur many moments that leave a scar behind -- be it emotional or physical.

I prefer to call these scars our little 'trophies'. Not to celebrate the pain, but to celebrate our fight against it. Every individual has scars unique to them alone. There could be scars of loss, humiliation, betrayal; or scars of physical abuse, giving birth, wars and so on.

We shouldn't be ashamed or upset at them at all. In fact, I believe it is these crucial moments in life which define you, which make you what you are and bring out a strength unknown to your own self.

So be proud that you experienced pain, and be proud that you had the courage to face up to it. Do not let it bring you down. Challenge it with a smile on your face and determination in your spirit!

This is your battle...live it..feel it and above all..win it !!

Yes definitely ... I being a mother of two by the age of 28 have definitely achieved many of such trophies and with each trophy a feather is being added to my hat! Alhumdulilah for pain ! This is the only way to stay grounded and value happiness!

Everything bad in life is good for something. It makes us move and change, find what we really want and what to do with our lives. Yes, even scars are there to remind us why is life so precious to us :) Lovely post!

Great post and so true! I've got so many scars that I carry with me, all a constant reminder of the struggles I've been through, a reminder that I'm a survivor. A warrior!

pain is what shapes us to be a stronger, better version of ourselves. we must always look at pain positively since without it, we can never 'upgrade' ourselves.

so true! I get ashamed of my stretch marks on my belly all the time, then think of what I went through to get them and how many other women wish they could have them and I try not to let it bother me and wear it with pride too!

This post is so close to my heart. Indeed, life leaves many scars behind. You have given these scars a lovely term, trophies.

It's what makes us human. Life wouldn't be as we know it if we were scar free - we'd be robots ;)

I also have lots of emotional scars. Sometimes I think back at my life and think wow, I've been through a lot. I like that you call them trophies. Makes me feel better about them :)
